The recent Denver Broncos victory over the New York Jets is overshadowed by Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie being carted off the field. Aside from news sources providing updates, his mom has also spoken out.

NFL star Tyler Badie, 24, had just caught a pass from fellow Denver Broncos teammate Bo Nix on a third down play when he was tackled to the ground by New York Jets’ Quincy Williams for a 4-yard loss.

Badie, who had caught the ball right before the end of the opening quarter, fumbled the catch when he fell, leaving Jets player Michael Carter II to recover the ball. The Denver Broncos player came off the field afterward.

Following the 24-year-old footballer’s exit, he was seen lying on his back on the sideline. While there, Badie was looked at and tended to by trainers.

“Prayers up for Tyler Badie 🙏🏻 Could be latent concussion response, or possibly neck injury when he hit the turf. Response was well after he was on the sideline for a while,” reported writer and Doctor of Physical Therapy Jeff Mueller on X.

However, after spending some time on the sideline, he was seen being secured on a board, which was lifted onto a cart. Badie was then stretchered off the field with sports personnel accompanying him.

The official X account of the Major League Football (MLF) shared a video post displaying the moment. They also attached a caption that explained, “PRAYERS: #Broncos RB Tyler Badie is being [stretchered] off the field after apparently collapsing on the sideline. 🙏🙏🙏 A very scary situation.”

All this took place before the beginning of the Denver Broncos’ second quarter against the Jets on Sunday, September 29.

According to media outlet AP News, which covered the story, Badie’s team announced that he had sustained a back injury. While the Denver Broncos also reported that the running back’s return to the field was questionable, they later ruled him out.

After the game, in which the Denver Broncos emerged victorious against the New York Jets, the winning team’s coach, Sean Payton, stated that he had “no update” on Badie.

Furthermore, AP News noted that Payton declined to confirm or deny whether the injured player would be traveling back to Denver with his team.

On the other hand, the young athlete’s mom, Dr. Tanjala T. Gipson, took to social media to pen a heartfelt message about her son.

Dr. Gipson posted an endearing photo of her and Badie’s father both dressed in custom-made dark-blue T-shirts that had words of support printed on the backs and fronts for their son. “Badie #28 Jeremiah 29:11” read Badie’s dad’s shirt, while his mom’s displayed, “Let’s Go Ba-Day!”

“This photo was taken just before today’s game. God was good then, and God is good now. We may not know what the future holds, but we know Who holds the future. Thank you so very much for your prayers for our son Tyler Badie (@only1badie),” captioned Dr. Gipson alongside her photo.

While Dr. Gipson’s message did not provide any details about how her son is doing since being carted off the field, other people have shared updates on Badie’s condition.

A journalist named Parker Gabriel posted words that were shared by Badie’s teammate Javonte Williams, who spoke about what he saw happen to the running back.

“Only thing I know is I just saw him on the ground crying. I don’t really know what happened or how it went down, but I know TB is strong. He’s a fighter, he’s a warrior and he’s going to be alright,” divulged Williams.

Earlier today, September 30, Gabriel posted another message about the situation on X. “Two sources have told @PostBroncos variations of the same thing on #Broncos RB Tyler Badie. ‘He’s going to be alright’ and ‘He’s doing OK.’ Obviously not much detail, but that’s what we’ve got so far,” mentioned Gabriel.

In his own post, Denver Broncos beat reporter Zac Stevens reiterated, “Tyler Badie is doing ‘ok’ after leaving the game field on a stretcher, per source.”

We extend our heartfelt prayers to Badie and his family and hope the NFL star, who was just signed earlier this week by the Broncos to their active roster, makes a speedy recovery.
